Commoncog will be increasing membership prices from $250 a year to $360 a year on the 1st of September, which is next month. This rounds to $30 a month.

    • Old members will not be affected: you’ll continue to pay whatever you were paying before.
    • If you’d like to buy a membership at the old price, you should sign up before 1st September 2026!

Commoncog intends to deliver outsized value for its price. During the last price increase, done three years ago, I wrote:

We are increasing the prices to reflect the value of that Commoncog brings to its members. From interviews I’ve conducted over the past year, I know this publication is most valued by consultants, (certain types of!) investors, and executives. If I do things right, Commoncog should be able to help you accomplish more in your businesses and in your lives.

Increasing Commoncog’s prices will select for people who are serious about getting good at business, whilst giving me more resources to invest in projects to accomplish just that.

Since then, multiple Commoncog members have used the membership to great effect in their businesses and their careers, at a rate of return far above the price of this membership. I intend to continue that trend. As I mentioned in my August 2023 announcement, increasing the average member price will allow us to invest in better products. More importantly, it’s become clear to me that Commoncog should also invest in better services that will help our members accomplish their business and career goals. Increasing our prices gives us greater flexibility with the services we may provide to members.

One final note. Commoncog selects for skilled individuals in business. It will never be for a mass market audience. As it is, the average net worth of a Commoncog member is already far above the population average. The higher our prices, the higher the quality of the people in our community. As a member said in a recent Singapore meetup: “the value of meeting other good people like this is that we may make a lot of money together.” We appreciate this network effect; we are businesspeople serving other businesspeople. Creating new commercial opportunities is exactly the sort of thing we want in our circles.

As a result, this will not be the final price increase over the next decade. If you are considering this membership, you should probably purchase sooner rather than later.

Thank you for reading, and if you’re a member: thank you for subscribing!
